画学生だった頃、よく動物園に行き動物の写生をしました。私のお気にいりの動物は、ライオンでしたが、級友の一人は、いつも、しまうまを描いていて、課題作品にも、しまうまを取り入れて、印象的な作品として仕上げていました。ソックスアートのしまうまの製作中、若かりし学生時代を思い出していました。
