When I was an art student in Japan, I enjoyed using animals for themes for my school projects: Lions, Elephants and Owls were some of my favorite animals to draw. In particular, a Lion with a large mane became one of my favorite animals in the SocksArt project. When I came to New York, my favorite lions are the pair that guard the entrance to the NY Public Library on 42nd Street.
画学生だった頃、ライオンを課題の主題によく使いました。ライオン、ぞう、ふくろうは、お気に入りの動物です。立て髪を沢山付けたこのライオンは、ソックスアート動物達の中でも、特に気に入っています。ニューヨークでの、お気に入りのライオンは、４２丁目のニューヨーク図書館の正面入り口に座っている二匹のライオンです。とてもハンサムです。
