SocksArt Zoo

The fox and raccoon are popular animals in traditional Japanese folk tale stories. Since I already made a raccoon, I decided to create a fox as well. However, this SocksArt fox does not look particularly like a Japanese fox. It turned out to be more like a fox from the story of “Aesop’s Fables”. He looks quite dandy with silk hat on. Sometime the SocksArt animals take on different meanings when I create them, which is an enjoyable creative process for me.

きつねとたぬきは日本の昔話によく登場します。たぬきは、すでに作っていたので、きつねに挑戦してみました。出来上がってみると、どうも、日本のきつねらしくはなく、どちらかというと、「イソップ寓話」に登場するきつねの雰囲気があります。シルクハットをかぶせたら、とてもダンディになりました。ソックスアートの制作は、たまに最初の意図にそぐわない仕上がりになったりもしますが、それも又、楽しみの一つです。
